We are thrilled to announce that our own Chief Strategy Officer, Nicole Carey, has won the 2022 PRNews Top Women Award in the Changemaker category.
This prestigious award is bestowed up on the top women who have steered their company into new markets, new opportunities, new audiences, and strong, measurable growth – women who’ve successfully altered the course of their brands or the industry for the better.
As the Chief Strategy Officer, Nicole Carey demonstrates true leadership every day through her expertise, enthusiasm and willingness (and joy) in jumping into the trenches alongside the teams she leads. She instills a culture of collaboration, exploration, and creativity within the company, creates award-winning possibilities that clients grab onto, and spearheads the growth not only of the Strategic Marketing and Communications Practice (SCIM), but of the wider government advisory firm.
Known for her integrated strategic thinking and using thoughtful, evidenced-based communications and Human Centered Design best practices, Nicole has played a role in advancing many of the Veteran Affairs Veteran Benefits Administration’s (VBA) largest benefits-related campaigns over the past decade including promotion of eBenefits, Fully Developed Claims, eClaims, the Blue Water Navy Act, and more. Through this work, she has helped improve the experiences of Service members and Veterans in accessing the benefits they’ve earned and deserve.
Simultaneously, Nicole has spearheaded DIS’s rapid expansion. Since 2020, Nicole led the submission of nearly 100 proposals for new business. Winning a significant amount of new work, DIS was able to not only sustain its current workforce, but grow it even during the global pandemic. And within the company, Nicole has nurtured an environment that encourages staff to bring forth new ideas, believing in the power of diversity and the unity of our purpose to do well by doing good for our team and our clients.
She mobilizes and manages teams across the company responsible for executing strategies and corporate initiatives alongside client service, acting as a resource to increase cohesion and inspiring her teams to achieve successes they didn’t think possible. Nicole leads with integrity, humility, heart, and passion knowing that it’s the pathway to the company’s success.
Nicole’s previous awards include being a 2021 Fed 100 winner and she is well-known for executing impactful national communications campaigns. Follow DIS on LinkedIn , Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more news and information.
